Chen Tai Chi
Chen Tai Chi Quan (Pinyin: Tai Ji Quan) has more than 400 years of history. Chen Tai Chi originates from Chen Jia Gou (Chen Village) in China’s central Henan province, due to the village being very close to the Shaolin Temple, many believe that this family named (Chen) system originated at the Temple, therefore the history is somewhat cloudy. Practitioners of Chen Tai chi surround the globe, Grandmasters and Masters have left the village in order to spread their knowledge to the western world. Grandmasters such as Chen Zheng Lei and Chen Xiao Wang and many others have, and continue to spread the martial culture and make bi-annual trips to the UK. Tai Chi is a popular form of exercise for all ages, due to slow motion exercises using the entire body. Tai Chi is seen as popular for people of a mature age but Tai Chi is suitable for people of all ages and walks of life. Slow moving also means slow regulated breathing long deep breaths help to massage the bodies internal organs, as well as the slow twisting motions adopted by the waist and gentle weight shifts to and from each legs, help to develop both internal and external strength, giving a greater overall sense of self and increasing the well being.
